Hi there, I’m Shane! Born and raised in Alexander City, AL on the beautiful shores of Lake Martin. I couldn’t ask for a better place to grow up or live now. When people ask me where would be my ideal place to live, I have no hesitation when I say right where I am now. I wouldn’t want to live ANYWHERE else.

I still call Lake Martin home today with my wife, Haley, and our English Black Lab, Gunner. He’s a mess, check out his photo gallery.

We enjoy weekends spent on the Lake cruising on our pontoon boat with friends and family.

I’m a 2010 graduate of Auburn University where I majored in Finance and Political Science. I’m a licensed Realtor® with Selling Lake Martin that my Aunt, Amy Clark, built from the ground up. My family started this company over 25 years ago and I’m proud to be a part of it now! I have learned from the absolute best Real Estate Broker and Aunt in the Lake Martin area, Amy Clark. I love my job and the people that I get to meet every day.

The most rewarding part of my job is helping people, whether it be a first time home buyer or someone looking for a vacation home on Lake Martin, I get to be a part of them buying their dream home! Of course, I have my Realtor® designation, but I also have my Resort and Second-Home Property Specialist Certification (RSPS). I also currently sit on the Lake Martin Area Association of Realtors Board of Directors, and I also am a part of the Building and Grounds Committee.

Proudest Moment So Far: Exceeding my sales goal in 2017 or graduating from Auburn University in 2010 (Finance & Political Science)

Biggest Challenge So Far: Keeping up with the fast pace of the Real Estate world.

Perfect Day: Any day spent on Lake Martin is the perfect day for me. Whether it’s showing houses or enjoying a boat ride with my wife (Haley) and black lab (Gunner).

First Job: Dock Hand at The Ridge Marina where I learned to handle and dock the largest of boats on Lake Martin. Also had to fill those boats up with gas. Man was it hot but I loved that job.

Super Hero Power: I guess flying would be pretty awesome.

Favorite Lake Martin Neighborhood: Emerald Shores or Marina Marin.

Inspiration: I have two. First my Dad, Jim Burns. To come from nothing to the businessman he is today is a huge inspiration. I strive to be at least half the man he is. Second, my Aunt, Amy Clark. Watching her create a super successful Real Estate business from the ground up is a lot to live up to and follow, but I try every day.

Spare Time: Not that there is much spare time but when I do have spare time if it’s a halfway nice day outside we’re headed to the lake.

Best Vacation EVER: Cruise to Costa Maya and Cozumel Mexico

Stress Reliever: It’s funny how the Lake keeps coming up, but there’s no better stress reliever than an evening boat ride on Lake Martin.

Favorite Song: Sweet Home Alabama

Favorite Movie: Any of the three “Friday” movies.
